Hi, I wanna to test a virtual DCS system via profibus to my plc system (PLC S7-1215C). Just like MODSCAN, any simulator availble for profibus for testing? As i will send some data through that virtual machine and transmit the data to my PLC Any suggestion, how can i proceed to test? At one time in the past I did skim read James Powell's book on Profibus, Catching the Process Fieldbus, where he states, "In PROFIBUS, the values in the field devices can be simulated, making it very easy and fast to simulate a control loop and significantly speeding up commissioning." But that assumes that the physical instrumentation is available. Do you have the instrumentation are you attempting to simulate instrumentation? There's Profibus Master Software with some kind of modem, RS-232/Profibus, probably the same kit, from either Anybus or Pepperll & Fuchs. https://files.pepperl-fuchs.com/webcat/navi/productInfo/pds/052303_eng.pdf?v=20230208161236 A company offers a "simulation engine" or services related to such. https://www.dmcinfo.com/latest-thinking/case-studies/view/id/301/siemens-simba-profibus-simulation-engine |
