Texts in Text Library do not update

dzwilu Bronze Member Joined: 12/3/2008 Last visit: 3/22/2022 Posts: 146 Rating: (4)	Hello Everyone, I have a problem with updating comments of the block in PCS7.1 SP2. I have changed some comments in my block, and now I would like to see those changes in the faceplates. Unlucky after OS compilation the text are not updated. I checked in the Text Library and nothing changes there. I tried compile entire CFC and WinCC and nothing helps. I am working on a dual language project (Polish,English). Any idea why this does not work? Thanks in advance. Regards, dzwilu

And I know that to translate them I have to use the text library. My problem is, that if I change the block comments (new revision from the client), after entire os compilation, the texts are not updated. I still have the old ones. Any idea why this shi* happens? English oder Polish? In which language did you change the comments? If you change the comments in the CFC-Chart and compile, then the Mapper looks in the text library. If the text is not available in the default language, it adds a new row with the new comment. Regards

To simplilfy the problem I have removed the english language from all the projects inside the multiproject. Now I have only polish. But it didn't solve the problem, still the text library is not updated correctly, however I noticed that if I open a chart, change the comment and then compile , the comment changes. But if I use process object view it doesn't. I think the problem is somehow related to the language, but cant find how. The other strange thing is that in some other hierarchy folder, everything is fine. Is it possible that some charts have been created in polish and some in english and thats why this happens. If yes how to fix it... // Forgot to answear, my default language in both OS and AS project is polish. Regards, dzwilu

I am not sure, if the following abstract can help you: Abstract: "Options > Manage Multilingual Texts > Change Languages..." menu After the text types of the project have been translated and imported, you can use this dialog field to select the language in which to display these text types. You can select whether the language is changed for title and comments or display texts or both. This language change is object related, i.e. you can trigger a language change separately for projects, stations, programmable modules, S7/M7 programs, symbol tables, block folders and all blocks. The languages which are available in this context depend on the selection under "Options > Language for Display Devices". All languages installed in the project can be selected here. *Note* The language change for "Title and comments" is only executed for the selected object. The language change for "Display texts" always causes a language change in the entire project. A change of language of the “Display texts” always also changes the “Default” language for the display devices."

Or do you have the problem also within a sub-project? (each CFC has a different language!) You can set the language for each sub-project. Do you have checked or done this? After setting the language for each sub-project -> Is the language in each CFC be set tothe right language auttomatically? Since Tuesday, Siemens publicsed a document regarding language texts. Because the project was engineered by many persons... Cant really say which cfc's are created in which language (or I do not know where to check it). Changing the language for the sub-projects doesn't help. I tried to compile in polish and in english and nothing changes. But anyway thank You very much for the document, I will get familiar with it and maybe solve the problem somehow. Regards, dzwilu

At the moment I have no moreideas, where you can look or what you can do. I think, you check the sub-folder via this way: Mark the the sub-folder menu bar > options > Manage Multilingual Texts > Change Language" The displayed language is the set language. Are the cehck boxes of "Title and Comments" and "Text Display" activated? Regards
