Hello automan2009 , I guess you have in mind Wonderware Intouch like SCADA system. So, in this point of view look at http://61.37.246.137/TECH/html/config24.htm There you'll see how to configuring a Siemens CP 143 communications processor. This is also valid for Siemens CP535, Siemens CP143, Siemens CP1430, or Siemens CP1434. From Siemens point of view you could use newer CP1430 TF/TCP card instead CP143. About CP5430/1 you'll need also for example CP5412 A2 card in the computer to access the Siemens L2 (Profibus) network. About settings in Step5 side look at http://61.37.246.137/TECH/html/config25.htm Also there you'll find how to connect with PLC via Wonderware® Siemens SINEC L2 FDL A2 I/O Server. Maybe is better then using third part OPC Server. The last decision is yours. Good luck with your project. Hope this will helps. Best regards Hristo Mihalev |

Hi again, So, about available of this cards look at Communication Products for SIMATIC S5 115/135/155U to Be Phased Out At the moment I don't think that you could be able to find CP143 card on market. Even second hand. For this reason, it's not necessary to make comparing with prices of both cards. Your posible way is CP1430. But you can directly substiute CP143 card with CP1430. About Win 95 or XP, even in XP procedure is the same (easier) like 95. Now you have Step5 version which is compatible with XP. Hope this helps. Best regards Hristo Mihalev |

As you guess before, we need to upgrade the old Genesis SCADA with up to date Wonder ware Intouch HMI release 10 So I'd like to ask you again if CP 1430 TF suuport the communication with Wonder ware intouch 10 HMI or not ??? and what is the procedure in this case ??? in fact i have some data said that wonder ware HMI support communication with CP 543 !!! i don't sure if it do the same with CP 143 & CP 1430 TF or not ?? also what is the difference between sinc h1 network & sinc L2 network last question does Matrikon OPC server support CP 1430 TF or not ??? I'm waiting for your point of view UMENCHO I'm so sorry for my freqent questions BR |

Hi again, Yes CP1430 supports communication with Intouch. Look at explanation connecting with Intouch using OPC Server on PC side. Use OPCLink to connect Intouch with OPC Server. Example using SimaticNEt OPC: Configuring OPCLink Using TCP/IP and a Standard Network Card for Windows NT 4.0 to Access S7-400 PLCs via the Siemens S7 OPC Server About CP5430/1, also supports to connect with intouch. The final resul will be the same like CP1430. Only CP5431FMS it's Profibus (Sinec L2) CP. The others are ethernet. And with simple words Sinec H1 is ethernet, Sinec L2 is profibus "protocols". The MatrikonOPC Server for SiemensS5 PLC'sprovides connectivity to Siemens SIMATICS5Logic Controllers viaEthernet. The OPC Server enables communication with all S5family PLCs byhandling S5 application protocols over TCP/IP and H1 transfer protocols. Hope this will helps. Best regards Hristo MIhalev |
