Third party opc client with PCS7 server/client

RVR Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello, What is the preferredway to get data from WinCC in a PCS7 Server/client architecture with a third party opc client ? Connecting to a WinCC client or connecting to a WinCC server ? Connecting to a WinCC server via the terminal bus or connecting to a WinCC server with a separate network card ? We've tried several methods, and we encountered no problem when we where connected to the WinCC server via the terminal bus or with a separate network card in the server. But, when we connect to a wincc cient, then the performance of the client and the performance of the terminal bus gets down ! At the other hand,Siemenstechnicians say that the only supported way is connecting via the wincc client, thus connecting to the wincc opc server on apcs7wincc client !!! How is it possible that the performance of the terminal bus gets down when we connect the third party opc client to the opc server on a wincc client ?Is the data always there on a wincc client or only when asking in a pdl, archiving, opc clienty sessions, etc... A lot of questions, and I hope also a lot of answers. Thanks very much RVR
