TIA portal 17 crash windows 10 21H1

Hi,

very similar issue here:

I tryed Windows 11 on a MS SurfacePro5

I know, that Win11 is not officially supported by SurfacePro5, also that TIA is not offically supported to be run on win11.. but i tryed anyways.

Win 11 runs without any issue on Pro5 (many sources of tech magazines proofed this too)

TIAv15 works fine.

I installed TIA v17 without update 1 and right after rebooting windows, i get BOD with same message already mentioned here.

But i dont have any VPN client installed on my machine.
I found out, that this also only happens, when i connect to our company WIFI. If i connect to my mobile phone Wifi-Hotspot, i can boot into windows and everything is working. As soon i connect again to our company wifi, i get BOD.

I disabled all autostart-apps from siemens and also disabled all "SIMATIC NET" devices in device-manager.

Boot and connect to our company wifi is working now, and i can start TIAv17 and can also connect to PLC (up and download,.. )

I know, that i can not expect any support because i use unsupported hardware-combinations, but i want let you know about it.

Right now, i install Update 1 for TIAv17 and try again to activate the SIMATIC-Devices

Specs:
MS Surface Pro 5
i5 -7300U @ 2,6GHz (OC up to 3,5)
8GB Ram
Intel integrated graphics
Win 11 Pro 21H2
NIC: Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller (PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_2B38)

Just finished installation of TIAv17Upd1, and till now, it looks ok. no BOD, even on company wifi. 

Connection to PLC works well.

hi, i have alsow meet this problem these days, with SINEMA RC Client(openvpn based) and TIA 17

 i have delete all the SINEMA RC Cerfificate in windows cerfiticate tools (certlm), re-install the sinema rc to let it (or openvpn) to generate the new cerfificate. and then everyting works. So maybe its the certitcate problem.

i think u could delete all the openvpn certificate(for me is SINEMA RC Certificate) and re-install it, and mabye it will works.

For those still encountering this issue. I reached out to Siemens support and this was there recommendation to resolve the issue. I recently installed TIA17 and it basically created this issue when ever i tried to connect to anything using Sinema RC. 

"The issue is caused by a communication driver in Step 7 V17.  There are a couple ways to correct the issue.  The preferred way is installed Step 7 V17 update 1 from the link below:

This resolution worked for me and hopefully this can help someone else.

Friday i have installed TIA V 17  along TIA V14 that i was using for long time, but yesterday i was seeing i am not able to use OPEN VPN  anymore. For me , i was able to establish connection to target, but i was not able to open online  connection=> BSOD. For me was strange cause  after i was establish connection and ping target=> BSOD.

First i have made the first solution and unclick SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet(ISO), but after this i was not able to ping target/ or connect.

After install both of update from link everithing is ok.

Try to deactivate the option
SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet (ISO)
for the SSL VPN Virtual Ethernet Adapter

The Problem ist SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet (ISO) on VPN Virtual Ethernet Adapter

Try to deactivate the option
SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet (ISO)
for the SSL VPN Virtual Ethernet Adapter

 

This fixed my problem with FortiClient VPN 7.0.5.0238 and TIA Software V15.1.

For people still facing this issue - windows crash after installing a VPN Client (likely related to the SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet ISO driver) - install the latest update applicable to your TIA Portal version.

I just tested, and everything is fine with the following updates:

- TIA Portal v15.1 Update 7

- TIA Portal v16 Update 6

- TIA Portal v17 Update 5

I solved it, I unselect SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet (ISO) on the card TAP-Windiws Adaptater V9
