I'm not the one to comment all the points you gathered, there for sure is something about all the things you listed, but about this point:
Just contact tech support via support request and address one issue per request (to not mix things up), and you'll have an expert that looks at it and addresses the issue to developement (if needed). Just because there's no external bug tracker doesn't mean that bugs are not tracked at all. |

You are not likely to get any traction on the Undo history loss at project save. This has been this way for as long as I can remember and is the same in every windows program I regularly use except perhaps Notepad++, and I'm completely sure about that one. The broad assumption is you only save work when you have not need to undo anything. Perhaps you need a "save + undo history" option added for those times when you need to shut down (rather than allow hibernate), but do not want to lose the undo history. I know I'd appreciate having the undo history persist between saves in certain situations, but at some point, the undo history is from project start and undo back to that point would be unwieldy to implement and use.

Hello For this weeks submission (3.2 Broken HMI build system), they are requesting some samples to help to trace the problem (which might prove to be a little bit difficult). If you encountered the problem and want to help to solve it, details are in the separate WinCC forum post. |

Weekly update: This weeks submission: Very simple sample project demonstrating the issue submitted. Hope this one should be pretty straight-forward to pin down. Last weeks submission status (3.2 Broken HMI build system):

We use motion by other 3rd party suppliers (rarely Siemens), so my coverage in this area is very limited. |

Weekly update: No new SR submissions this week. Frankly, after almost month of doing this I'm getting quite discouraged. I tried to start with the true bugs first (items that should not be up to anybody's interpretation or taste), but so far I'm 0/4 (one is officially still in progress but it it's not looking good). To summarise:
With those result, I'm not very hopeful that we will be more successful once we move to the UI stuff. If you want to give it a try, here is the link to post new support request. Seeing the results and with the current workload, I will probably take a few weeks off of this. If I feel particularly inspired I might post my thoughts to further discuss some possible UI improvements, but seeing the community engagement here, this might not even be the right platform for that. And one final observation: Are the technical support people handling the support request getting a bonus for every SR that doesn't make it all the way to the devs? Because sometimes it definitely feels like it ... pretending not to understand English, requiring every description to be posted 3 times, explained in a different kind of language and from a different angle. Not a good experience. |
