TIA Portal: Looking for a analog value smoothing function.

Is there a standard function block/call i can use in TIA library? hdhosseini Genious Brain I am facing problem in some moving object analog postion feedback. I would like to constant this real input for minimizing ramping of the anlog value. Please suggest how to keep smooth a analog variableby using whichfunction block in SIMATIC Manager V5.1 library? In case of chaotic analog signal or too much sharp steps changes, the best way is to filter the signal for a smoothed version that in a control system will prolong the life time of actuators in PID control system. Call (at fixed time interval if possible but in general call in OB1 would do) the following: Filtered_Value:=Filter_FactorRaw_Eng_AI + (1-Filter_Factor)Filtered_Value; Filtered_Value must be Static [Stat or M or DB] Real variable. Filter_Factor must be greater than 0 and less eqwual 1 (small value = stronger filter; 1=no filter)
