TIA Portal V13 fails to start - side-by-side configuration error

I have installed a trial copy of professional using Win7 64 bit on a core I5 laptop.

Get the error 'The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect'

I believe this is a common error with Visual C++ redistributable and requires registry changes.

I can see 2005, 2008 and 2010 in both X86 and X64 in the installed programmes list.

Can anyone give the appropriate fix and should I carry out a reinstall?

in case of a Side-by-Side error message please take a look in the Windows Event Viewer

(Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer)

Here you get a deteiled message which reference Assembly is not correct or be missing.
Such errors can be comming from the named Visual C++ Redistributabels but also from a
missing or defective .Net installation.

I have the same problem..I've installed TiaPortal V13 over my old version, and I have an version conflict (Side by Side error ID 33).

I understand that the Microsoft Visual C++ version is not the correct one, but HOW COUD I FIND WHICH IS THE CORRECT VERSION THAT TIA PORTAL V13 works with??

I looked also in Windows event viewer ..I uninstall all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and I install on of the Microsoft website....doesn't work..

Do you have any sugestions?

Hello,

please can you provide the general tab, or better export the message in format evtx (rigth click on message then "save as").
On the TIA V13 install medium normally all needed redistributables stored in the directory
"InstData\Prerequisites\" ;"VCRedist" and "VSRedist"

ist must not be the 2008 only, TIA have a lot of Redistributabels (2005,2008,2010,2012) each in x´86 and x64 distribution.
Try it to install all Redistributabel in all plattform distributions (x86 + x64)

Hallo zusammen, doch gibt es eine Lösung von Siemens. Ich hatte ein Problem mit TIA v13. Danke, Siemens Support. 

"...führen Sie eine die Deinstallation des TIA Portals über Programme und Funktionen in der Systemsteuerung durch.

Da dies die Softwareteile noch nicht komplett entfernt, nutzen Sie im Anschluss das Inventory Tool.
Unter folgendem Pfad finden Sie "inventory.exe":
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Siemens\Automation\

Siemens Installer Assistant\306

Führen Sie dieses als Administrator aus und scannen Sie Ihr System mit dem 'Discovery'-Button nach Siemens Software.
Anschließend mit Rechtsklick auf die fettgedruckten Einträge bezüglich TIA V13 (Bsp. Name: SEBU_STEP7 - Edition: TIAP13), und auf 'Uninstall Unit' klicken -> Es wird eine Query für das gewählte Paket angelegt.
Durch den 'Uninstall'-Button ´´ die Software deinstallieren.

Nach der Deinstallation der übrigen Software mit dem Inventory Tool und Neustart des Rechners die TIA Portal Pakete erneut installieren.
Achten Sie darauf Virenscanner und Firewall zu deaktivieren und das Setup als Admin auszuführen.

Für sichere Lösung deinstalieren bitte noch alle Visual C++ versions 2010 und 2012 (in meinem Fall war das auch notwendig).

This is how I've managed to fix this side-by-side error.
I've installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (long time installation...) because it has all the latest .NET and Visual C++ applications. 
Then I installed TIA Portal v13 and I've GOT the side-by-side error. I've decided to remove the Visual C++ Redistributable's, that were installed by TIA Portal and these are 2005,2008,2010 (both x64 and x86), and then I've launched the TIA Portal v13 installation again to REPAIR and after the installation everything went Ok.

Here is a list of my Visual C++ Redistributable's installed on my computer:
