I imagine v17 will work, v16 might work but require another update, and v15.1 with the very latest update might work. K_Ohjus Gold Expert Joined: 3/5/2017 Last visit: 11/8/2024 Posts: 778 Rating: (129)	Hi, Use virtual machines to work with any automation software. even if you are student your college or whatever will probably provide some free student licenses to VmWare and Windows. At least where I went. No company working with automation (Lack of a better word, but TIA, Studio5000, Automation Studio etc.) will update to latest OS right away. There are huge know issues with OS updates and such, so keep your OS out of network and do not update it. Not probably Siemens related but one example is Beckhoff with any update of WIn7 caused communication issues. Well this was a few years back, but still..

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 15406 Rating: (2446)	I'm so confident it _might_ work, and highly confident it _might_ corrupt TIA Portal, and *extremely* confident Siemens has not stated TIA Portal (any version) is compatible with Windows 11. If any version might work, it would be v17, but even then, I suspect it would need several updates, possibly even a service and some updates. SEA_SSI Member Joined: 1/31/2020 Last visit: 6/10/2024 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, It might not be relevant for you anymore, but if anyone else searches upon an answer for this question I've had an experience with it, since one of my colleagues accidently pressed yes to the Win11 update popup that most of us probably have gotten. He didn't find any problems in using Win11 and even with TIA v16. As extra info he also had Step7 v5.6+SP2 installed, which also continued working just fine. Another colleague also accidently updated to Win11 and found no problem with TIA v16, but had issues with Step7 5.5, so he updated to latest 5.7 and all works fine. -BR SEA
