TIA V13 WinCC - problem in WinCC runtime error

chanlu Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	The most serious problem is WinCC runtime error. I was trying to add an alarm screen and I made the names of the alarms variables (using string input) . It shows up runtime error when I input a name to that string. when i was on V12 , it was fine. HELP!!! and WinCC V13 Pro Upd1 can't be installed too. :S

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, download the complete software to the panel again (right click on panel > download to device > Software (all)) If you use the button on top of tia it only loads changes which can cause problems in some cases. What's the problem withinstalling Update 1? K!ke

chanlu Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi, I actually rebuild everything before downloading to PLC but the problem is still there. But somehow , I have managed to get back V12 of my project and it works perfectly fine. About the installing update for WinCC 13, the error message says that I must have installed WinCC 13 professional first before installing update which I already installed but the update can't locate the installation . Please see the attached image for your reference. Thank you. ( Because I will hope the problem could be solved with that update ) Attachment ErrorWinccUpd.jpg (345 Downloads)

Here you can find the right update: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/90466591 If I'm wrong, please add a picture of installed software (in TIA Portal: Portal view hasa section "Installed software", in project view you can find installed software in the menu "Help") K!ke

chanlu Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi , Sorry , my fault. You are right . I actually have already installed the correct update. I was confused because i see another wincc update . Which means my TIA is already updated and the update did not fixed WINCC problem . I am using Comfort (TP900) for some alarm systems. If i use HMI Firmware V12 , there is no problem but the string values on Alarm Screen will appear as "########" when i use Firmware V13. Can you please advise ? Thanks Alot !!

Kurdrann Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	You can not display normal string[xx] variable from array or other directly in the alarm text line you have to create an internal Wstring variable, copy the String[xx] variable int to that variable and call the Wstring variable in the Alarm text. I had the same problem with only #### displaying on the alarm text line but solved it with this method. TextToDisplay: STRING[25] TAG-variable from PLC TempText: Wstring[25] - Internal TAG-variable in HMI (created by me) Put this function in some appropiate event SetTag Tag (Output) : TempText Value: TextToDisplay And then you can put your text in the Alarm text line Alarm text: <Tag : 25, TempText>
