I offer you a workaround.. if your issue is the loss of familiar shortcuts. Get hold of Microsoft's PowerToys application. I highly recommend PowerToys for its multi-window manager. ~ |

I want context sensitive shortcuts. If a LAD rung is currently highlighted and I type NO, a normally open contact should get inserted into the run at the selected location in the network. If I type NC, a normally closed contact should get inserted. Type PT and expect a positive transition. NT and get a negative transition. Type C and get a normal coil. Type S and a set coil appears. Note that if a coil is not permitted at the current run location, coil shortcuts should cause a mild beep (or for a special keyboard, a mild vibration.....). I should not have to use F-key, shift, control, alt or windows keys if simple text and context are enough to imply intent. Just some random "piling on" thoughts. And, if I fully understand the complaint, Siemens made a "breaking change" in default shortcuts, then removed the existing shortcuts as options to revert back manually and override the defaults. If that is correct, shame on you Siemens for not thinking this one through. Add an "advanced" button on the shortcut screen which when clicked allows selecting any key combination. It should then verify that same key combo is not already used elsewhere. If it is, it should pop up a dialog box and ask the user if they want to "swap shortcuts", "reset existing shortcut to nothing", "edit both shortcuts together", or "assign shortcut to both actions" (not generally recommended). What I'd really like to see for shortcut management is this: Right next to the "Windows Settings" save button above the working pane, add a shortcuts manager button. In the working pane, put the "cursor" wherever you want to manage task specific shortcuts. Then click the new "Shortcuts Manager" button. Up pops a context-sensitive shortcut manager dialog box. In the box is a table, something like this:
