We recommend the default settings of: Interval: 60 s Timeout interval: 30 s This means WinCC will send a Lifebeat-Telegram to the PLCs every 60 s. The PLCs, then, must answer this telegram within 30 s. If the PLCs don´t answer within 30 s, the connection will be disconnected. More information can be find in the channel description.

Dec Gold Expert Joined: 5/19/2006 Last visit: 11/29/2023 Posts: 548 Rating: (107)	Even though this seems to be the definition of Lifebeat monitoring timers, in facts there are different schemas in sending out the packets to the PLC by WinCC S7Channel & SINEC Drivers (ISO or RFC1006). One set of Lifebeat monitoring timers are running at the SINEC driver level (ISO = 10s AK , RFC1006 = 30s Keep – Alive) independent of WinCC S7Channel. These messages are designed to ensure lower transportlayer heartbeat and are configured with SIMATIC NET. WinCC S7Channel makes-up a timer equal to Lifebeat monitoring interval +Timeout intervaland sends out S7Protocol ReadSzl 0x424 as WinCC Lifebeat monitoring message [:o] This Lifebeat telegram alsoget the CPU operating status (SZL_ID 424 RUN, STOP etc) and disconnect the communication if the CPU isnot in RUN mode (see the check box Monitoring of CPU-stop Active optionbelow Lifebeat monitoring).[8)] Dec Attachment LBM-S7ChannelTCP.zip (118 Downloads)
