Hello!

I've got a little problem - I have a HMI Panel TP1500 Comfort which is programmed using Tia Portal V12. I would like to achieve a remote control/acces to the panel via PC running on Windows 7 which is connected to the network. I have already transfered a license (Simatic WinCC Sm@rtServer) to the HMI panel. I have configured and checked all Transfer options on the HMI panel. I have added an exception to the Java Security. I installed the newest version of Java. I tried to connect from a PC using Internet Explorer by typing as addres IP of the panel and port (5800), but I received a message:

Acces denied ("java.net.SockerPermission" "192.168.X.X:5800" "connect, resolve")

I switched off antivirus and firewall - it does not work. During research I have found that maybe it is because of Windows - on Linux it should work, but unfortunately I do not have an option to change operating system. 

Do you have any ideas how I can solve this problem? I would be gratetful for any help.

It probably easier to use a something like VNC viewer, just set a password on the screen and enter the IP of the panel and voila!

At least that was my experience.

When you use the Java Plugin in Internet Explorer you have to know this:

only in latest TIA Portal Version Java V8 is supported

Yo can use the SmartClient Application.

You can find it at your WinCC Comfort/Advanced DVD or you can copy from Engineering System (start-> all programes-> Siemens Automation-> Runtime Systems-> WinCC Advanced Runtime-> SmartClient)

But first of all you have to check if the Smart Server is running on TP1500.

-> click taskbar in the Runtime Loader-> loo in the Taskbar at the right side

There have to be this icon:

If not then go to Control Panel -> WinCC Internet Settings -> Remote and start the Smart Server.

If there is no Remote Tab then you do not have transfered the SmartServer Option with your Project.

Your suggestion is very simple and it works, but I have one question - there is a time lag while operating via remote PC. Is there any way to make it a little bit faster or it is normal?

All transfer options were checked and it is as you described. I assume that I can make a project migration from V12 to V13, download it to the HMI panel and it should work with Java 8? I tried an option with Sm@rtClient on another PC and it worked correctly. You wrote that I can copy Sm@rtClient. Wll it work normally on another PC? Unfortunately I do not have my dvd WinCC right now and I couldn't find it to download.

yes you can copy it and use it on another system

You can find the Application at:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Automation\WinCC RT Advanced\SmartClient.exe
