Understanding the block diagram Read from top to bottom, from the signals of the higher function unit demanding something to the elements that are tasked with satisfying the demand. The main signal flow normally is to the left, further influential variables as well as branches are located to the right Notes on pins Remember that rarely are all compound interface pin interconnected. Normally, the primary element is commanded by the higher plant via BACnet references. The compounds and their blocks are shown as rectangular blocks and are labeled in bold print (normally below block). The connection lines represent signals: ●Output signals are depicted as simple arrow lines, input signals additionally have a circle at the beginning. ●Signals drawn to the dotted frame come or go to and from the compound's interface, all others remain within the compound. ●The interface pins are labeled with name (bold), e.g. [I4:EnPgm]. They are preceded by the type of input or output information (order from top to bottom; see "CFC chart display"). ●Dotted signals to blocks indicated "linked deletion". ●Important signals often are labeled by the corresponding pin name of the associated block or integrated compound (e.g. PrVal). ●Special default values are indicated such as Off at [P1: P1Sfty] of {Cmd}. ●Note: Some diagrams have signals passing by one block and leading directly to another. Only the arrow then indicates the connection! ●Colors and line thickness: see below. |
