Transformer & Power supply Selection for PLC Panel

I need following help for proper selection of Transformer and Power supply for my all signal module as well as for Field instrumenta like Transmitter and Solenoid Valve. Please guide me how to select. For tansformer Input Voltage is 440VAC and Output Voltage is 230 VAC. In PLC panel following component is mounted. 1 .POWER SUYPPY FOR RACK PS 407, 10A (6ES7407-0KR02-0AA0) --- 2 nos. 2. CPU 416-3 PN/DP ,16MB (6ES7416-3ES06-0AB0) --- 1no. 3. CP 443-5 EXTENDED FOR PROFIBUS (6GK7443-5DX05-0XE0) --1 no. 4. SCALANCE X208 (6GK5208-0BA10-2AA3)---4 nos. 5. IM 153-2 HF (6ES7153-2BA02-0XB0)---2 nos. 6.SM 321; DI 32 x DC 24V (6ES7321-1BL00-0AA0 )--10 nos 5.SM 331; AI (6ES7331-1KF02-0AB0) ---4 nos.(ALL are 2-Wire Transmitter ) 6.SM 322; DO 32 x DC24V (6ES7322-1BL00-0AA0) --10 nos. 7. Solenoid Valve ooperating Current is 0.33A each -80 nos. 8. Relay Board -- 40 nos.---0.168 A each 9. 24 V and 230 V indication Lamp 10. Valli Posts: 262 Rating: (45)	Hi, In the data sheet of each items you will find the VA and A consumptions each components.......... You have to furnish the same first to calculate each trafo size or A rating of SMPS.

Hi YogendraG For the position no.1 You can find it in the manual Product data sheet 6ES7407-0KR02-0AA0 - Siemens Rated value at 230 V AC 0.5 A Position no.7 multiply the number of solenoid valves for their current Position no.8 the relay board is operated at 230V? Position no.9 lamps 230V calculate the number of lamps for its consumption, for those at 24V, you need another transformer from 230V to 24V Position no.10 usually the socket is 10A more a lamp between 14 and 36W. After calculating Amp or VA how to calculate transformer rating for input voltage 440 V and output voltage is 230 or Input Voltage is 230V and output voltage is 110 V. Ste39 Platinum Member Joined: 1/21/2013 Last visit: 10/23/2024 Posts: 4620 Rating: (708)	Hi YogendraG, For the power consumption of the module have a look: Calculating power consumption for PLC I/O signal module and power consumption from back Bus by DI module and How to claculate the power consumption and Power Consumption Regarding the calculation of consumption, if you calculate everything in VA example: 1500VA/230V = 6.5 A, so you'll need a transformer 2000VA calculating a bit of reserve. If you always such a transformer 1500VA but 110V will do 1500VA/110V = 13.63 A, but will always be a 2000VA transformer. And have a look our friend PISCEAN 2010 and DILIP 1111: Transformer Selection

SolutionFinder Posts: 559 Rating: (87)	Dear YogendraG, For Control you can use tranformer from 500VA to 1 KVA. Also for power supply you can use 10A to 40 A power supply as per your requirement. Always go for 1.5 times higher rating then the actual load.
