Unable to Archive and Retrieve

Slice26 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I am using Siemens Step 7 V5.4 and I do not have the capability to achive/retrievea project. Whenselecting anarchive, it is Saved as type: PKZip 12.0-Archive (.zip) Then hitting Save, the following message windows appears: Unable to generate the process for the archive program command 'S7 arconx.exe C:\S7PROJ~1\FIRE14~2.ZIP-attributes=all-mask=none-add-directories=current C:\PROGRA~1\Siemens\Step7\S7tmp\Fire14-b "FIRE14-BLK-0156-0000-C-PLC-001-SW"\.*'. Attached are screen shots of the messages stated. Thank You

TomDeWou Platinum Expert Joined: 11/15/2006 Last visit: 3/26/2025 Posts: 1319 Rating: (176)	Which OS is it? Is it Windows 7 and you are running STEP7 as normal user (without administrative rights)? If so, run STEP7 as admin (right mouse > 'run as admin').

Rafael2013 Posts: 13 Rating: (1)	i got windows7 ulatimate 64bit. I solved mine. In simatic manager Option>Customize>Archiving>Configuring change program path browse the pkzipc.exe for pkzip and winzip64.exe for winzip( note if u r using 32bit it shud be winzip32.exe). these pkzipc.exe is installed in your drive C:ProgramFiles(x86)\PKWARE and wizip64.exe in drive C:\ProgramFiles\WINZIP folder. Hope you solved yours. Rafael.
