USB PC Adapter not working with Step7 V5.5

josemiall Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello! I installed Step 7 v5.5 on my Windows 7 several weeks ago and I haven't been able yet to connect online to PLCs with the usb pc adapter. The problem is that when I try to select the USB conection in the "Local Connection" tab of the PG/PC selection window, it only appears the COM1 option. I have read in the forum that the Step 7 v5.5 has implemented de usb drivers for the PG/PC but how can I select it?? Do I need to activate it or do something special?? Many thanks in advance!! But it is not clearly mentioned that the USB PC adapter is compatible with Windows 7. Check Page 13 of this manual PC Adapter USB Hope this helps.

Frankly speaking I am using this kind of adapter but never checked what I have in options. If you a;lready tried and isn't working, perhaps reinstall of Step7 will solve the problem. So 1. plug adapter to usb, 2. plug adapter to PLC 3. install the driver from CD after then you can select the USB. Regards Zenta

The driver on the CD USB Prommer 10/2007 / PC Adapter USB 10/2007 is not released for Windows 7. see Installation of the PC Adapter USB/USB Prommer Driver with STEP7 V5.5http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/44914284 Have you tried reinstalling the drivers forPC adapter USBindicate search the driver on the installation disk Step7, in the folder where you installed STEP7.
