Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	I was trying to use the S7Data ActiveX control under 'Visual-Basic.NET' and get all kinds of error. Do I need to downgrade to Visual Basic V6.0 to make it work or should the Simatic computing controls all work under the new .NET version of 'Visual-Basic'? I couldn't find any word about the .NET version and compatibility to the Simatic computing on the entire support web site. Thanks for the advice

ciklop Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi, I had to fight this problem too and haven't found any solution with S7Data ActiveX control. This is really very strange because of, for example, the "Programmed Interface" (based on the same technology and not released for .NET too), works with it very well. When your problem is the date communication between Win AC and a .NET client you can solve it with means of OPC Server (Simatic NET, WinAC ...) with ODK from Siemens or with the Toolbox from the Fa. Softing (I don't know which way is better, I used the Toolbox and am completely satisfied). Best regards

You should use in both functions Write and Read the type "Object" as parameter (here - oValue); type "Integer" doesn't work properly and causes the "Type mismatch" - exception. I haven't checked anything else, because of I don't need this control. Pay attantion, please, Siemens didn't release this product working with .NET, it should be taken into account.
