Want to change the backgroundcolor of polygon

Hi, I have almost the same question. I created faceplate type with a polygon wich looks like a valve. Now i want to change the backgroundcolor of this polygon. Can i just create a faceplate tag and asign it to the background color? and after that, can i  create a faceplate instance on a picture.pdl and link the faceplate tag to a proces tag?

in short, How can I change the background color of a faceplate instance with a proces tag?
