Web Server S7-1200 AWP write data to PLC using XML

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 15405 Rating: (2446)	If you create a large character array (buffer) in a DB, set up the meta tag details in the header, then write data to it using normal GET/POST from the client browser - or some device that simulates a browser sufficiently well to push data to the PLC. There are command line examples on these forums somewhere from several years ago (google may not give the answer, but the internet archive might if google's results end up as bank links... you can use those links in the internet archive to possibly retrieve a saved version of the answer). Does this help? The key is having a single tag represent the buffer and GET/POST data to that tag in the browser. The PLC will then have to parse all that silly XML. In the long run, you would be far better off having a browser plug-in convert the xml to a more efficient data structure and push to the PLC as a single data record.
