dBigD Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I am quite new to Siemens, my experience is with S7 200 and the Logo modules. I am looking to use a weigh conveyor and an inline camera to compare the weight of a pack with the weight printed on it. Any suggestions on a type of Load Cell and Camera. Has anyone ever done this kind of project??? All suggestions are very welcome. I'm hoping to build this from scratch.

For choosing the load cells, I need to know more information about your application: -Nominal load (=Material, which you want to weight)? - Dead Load of the mechanics? - How much load cells? - Which precision is required? - Ex-Protection? - How many packs do you want to measure per second? dBigD Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi Siwarexi, Thanks a million for your reply, I work in the meat packing industry. We pack the meat you can buy in the supermarkets. We had an incident recently where the labeller was faulty and was labelling the wrong pack so a pack that was labelled to weigh 860g was just short of 300g. Needless to say this was a major mistake so this is where this idea comes from. -The weights Vary in a range from 50g to3000g -I haven't made the mechanics yet, but the plan is to be in the region of 3000g -As long as the conveyor weighs within 5-10g either way it should be fine. It is just to be sure the correct label is on the pack. -I have never set up a load cell before so advice on how many should be used is welcome. I was just going to use one single point load cell???? -It doesn't have to be EX but generally everything would have to be at least IP 56 -The maximum packs perMINUTE is 60 ppm Best Regards and Thanks again dBigD

It is necessary, that the dead load plus the load must be less than the nominal load (=rated load into the attached catalogue). You can use for example one SIWAREX WL260 SP-S SA load cell (see the page 3/16 of the attached catalogue), if the platform has the max. size of 400 x 400 mm. On that platform, you can mount the conyevor. If you are using a 20 kg SIWAREX WL260 SP-S SA load cell, you will reach an accuracy of 11 g. If you are using a 50 kg SIWAREX WL260 SP-S SA load cell, you will reach an accuracy of 27 g. In any case, I recommend you to use a stainless steel load cell (e.g. SIWAREX WL260 SP-S SA), because a stainless steel load cell has less vibrations than an aluminium load cell.
