Which software to use

Hi,

if the PLC is FS <05 you can use it with TIA V13 SP1.

Since FS 05 of the PLC a downgrade to a lower FW Version is not possible
and you must use TIA V14.

The FS is named on the Type Plate of the PLC.

Can you use TIA V13 SP1 Update 9 for the FW4.2 PLC (FS 05)?

Let us say you define in the hardware configuration as if FW4.1.
Will it work (ignoring new features)?

TIA13 seems to work for FW4.2 that was updated from FW4.1......

Do us all a big fat favour please....
Ignore for the moment the fact that the CPU is of FW4.2.
Prepare a project with TIA13.0.1.9 with a CPU of firmware FW4.1.3.

Make sure to check all properties that has anything to do with allowing the system to work with "compatible" hardware.

Load the project and see what the result is.
Please report the result.

If this does not work, then it is best to return the hardware... especially if there is no warning on the original packaging box stating a warning of using TIA14 Beta.

Otherwise consider getting the TIA14 trial version from the support site. Be warned - it is HUGE.

Hi,

yes is possible to load a project which contains a PLC V4.1 to a PLC which has V4.2.

But then TIA reports before downloading that there are differents between Offline and online,

this also happens in the Online&DDiagnostics of the PLC, you get here the informations that there are differences but this differences are accepted.

If you can accepte this messages and staus informations you can work with it buth some customers doesn't acept this warnings and status informations

It is not a perfect solution, but at least the project can continue if having the "wrong" CPU. Then there is time to get TIA14 without stopping working on the project.
