WinCC alarm window re-appears after ACK

MartinB Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, We are having a problem with WinCC Alarm Notifications on an MP-277 attached to an S7-316. We have the standard WinCC Alarm Window set to appear for each new alarm. We also have each alarm attached to a HMI ACK bit in the PLC, so ACKs by the operator are notified to the PLC. We find that occassionally the alarm window pops up on the HMI when there is no new alarm. The circumstances are as follows: 1)No current alarms (alarm window hidden). 2) Alarm condition appears in PLC. 3) Alarm window pops up on HMI, showing the alarm message. 4) Alarm is immediately ACKed on HMI by an operator, and the alarm window is closed. 5) After 2-3 seconds, without any change to any other alarm states, the alarm window automatically re-appears, showing that the Currentalarm is ACKed. This re-appearance of the Alarm window doesn't happen every time; I suspect that it's something to do with the timing of the ACK by the operator and the acquisition cycle of the Alarm and/or ACK flags by the HMI. There doesn't appear to be anything we can do to change this behaviour, but since it is annoying our customer we need to give them an explanation.

MartinB Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the reply. I'll keep the first link in mind if I ever want to display a tag of the S7 data type IEC time (TIME) in WinCC. Unfortunately neither of these links help with the problem I'm having - i.e. the Alarm Template window pops up when there areno new alarms.

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, You are sure you don't have set accidently filtering on the window? I can imaging that the control receives an alarm, but due to filtering settings in does not display in the current view. with regards, ikkezelf
