spaccabbomm Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	Hi all, i made a search on this forum and i have seen many type to backup/restore data (taglogging/alarmloggin) but i think they are a little complicated. I'm looking for a simple tool with 2 button BACKUP and RESTORE and period selection... how do you make backup/restore of your archive ? thank you

antonio_dvt Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Hi, If you are looking for a easy way to backup your project you can't store a copy, use the Tool of wincc called "Project Duplicator", select your project and then select "Save As.." you can use this backup when you want whitout restore it. I hope it could help you

Darius Platinum Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 2957 Rating: (242)	Hello, Or maybe enter in command prompt "Reset_WinCC.vbs" (you need this for drop SQL connections, otherway you can't achive or copy) and then just archive your project with your favourite archiver (zip, rar, 7z) and simply put it into your backup drive.

Particular projects of 2007 year or SQL database data of 2007 year of one project ? i mean taglogging and alarmlogging of the same project. suppose i deleted the 2007 data and my customer want to see the 2007 alarm or taglogging... how do that?

Maybe there is some 3rd party tools, but the only way to do that is by doing SQL data backups (you can do them automated) and if you delete some data you can get it back from backup. I don't know other way.

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, For backup for example the configuration data of the alarm logging you can use the "export messages" option within the alarm logging. If you wanna backup the alarm database I would suggest the following: Configure the alarm logging in a way that it creates segments (several databases in a particular time interval). Now also configure the setting (in the alarm loggin) to store a backup of the segment when it has been completed (the smaller the segment size the more segments, the faster they are stored somewhere else, the more accurate the back up will be). You can pinpoint the segment copy to a mapped network dirve for backup purposes. You can always copy the archived segments into the wincc folder "CommonArchiving" so they will be attached automatically again. with regards, ikkezelf
