WinCC - How to use alias to change information passed to a pop-up

Kristie Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	All, I am using WinCC and I am trying to use a common pop-up (picture window) for all of the valves in my system. I am using the TagPrefix to dynamicly change which tags are poplating the fields. Is there a way to dynamically change other parts of the picture window pop-up besides the tags using an alias? Specifically, I want to put some custom text (not just a caption in the title bar) each time I open this picture window. I would like the text to be passed from the button click to the pop-up. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks!

You can write it just like you write a property in the same picture, but now you have to write is to your picture within the picturewindow you opened. normaly: SetPropBool("lpszPictureName", "Visible", TRUE); In your case the picturename is then like "PictureNameWhereThePictureWindowIs.PictureWindowName:PopupNameValve" So like SetPropBool("PictureNameWhereThePictureWindowIs.PictureWindowName:PopupNameValve", "Visible", TRUE); You can go on and on with picturewindow in picturewindow. Connect in the popup “@local::NameOffTag” to i/o-field/text-field/etc. In the mouse action that opens the popup, set the internal tagg..Tag.. e.Taggs(on that opens the popup, set the internal taggs. (VB or C-scri Tagname = “@local::NameOffTag” Do not use “NameOfTag” When closing popup, reset the local tags (“@local::NameOffTag”) to something usefull. This is less likely to cause errors in apdiag. //p

Kristie Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the help! I am new to WinCC so I appolagize if my questions are basic. I am using the TagPrefix property already when I open this pop-up. Therefore, if I try to use a generic internal tag to populate the text in the title, it doesn't work because my internal tag does not have the same prefix (and I do not want to have to create a unique internal tag that does have the same prefix for every instance of my pop-up). Any suggestions? Also, Jaapie, I have already written the rest of the project in VBS, so probably can't switch to C at this point, sorry . What I have tried so far... In the mouse action that opens the pop-up (and where I set the TagPrefix), i added: HMIRuntime.Tags("Title").Write "Valve 1" where "Title" is my internal tag. In the text box object I want to view this text, I added: Set objText = ScreenItems("StaticText_Title") Set objTag = HMIRuntime.Tags("Title") objTag.Read objText.Text = objTag.Value This works if I don't use the TagPrefix, but since I do need to use it, it does not work. In a few months you can help too. If I got time I can help.......so Sorry, but if you set the Tagprefix, there is no other way when using tags. In this case I usually create 2 picturewindows for a popup (picturewindow in picturewindow) The first picturewindow (main) is not using a tagprefix the second picture window (within the main) is using the tagprefix. The items you do not want to give a prefix to you can put in the main (e.g autorisation bits or something like that)and all others (with a prifix) you can put in de sub-window. Also this below optioncan give you aidea to solve the problem, I think it will work in your case too but I have never tried: /tf/WW/en/Posts/25490 Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck, Jaap
