AutoGen_8232177 Member Joined: 1/10/2022 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have been handed a TIA v13 sp2 project. I need to add code and screens. The addition of code is no problem. I have a WinCC Professional license for v17 (4096 power tags). The existing project has over 19k power tags connections. With my (4096) license is it possible to: 1. Engineer the screens, create HMI tag connections, create alarms, trends etc? 2. Simulate the runtime on my PC to test new code? (I have physical PLC) 3. Create the RT file to be copied onto the RT PC on site? I need to fully retest the scada application along with my new code and screens. Do I have to order a new license for max tags!? Which could cost near 10k if I'm not mistaken... Thanks for replies.

With this license you will be able to work on everything in engineering. The only problem you may have is that, as you say, problems may arise with the tags configured in the project since you exceed those allowed by your license and you must increase the tags. In any case, when you migrate the project it will tell you that you need it. I recommend that you perform the test to update the project. Best regards!

AutoGen_8232177 Member Joined: 1/10/2022 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I can engineer the screens etc ok but when I start the Simulation on my PC the tag connections don't seem to be healthy. I need this functionality to test new code. My question is do I need to purchase a new license to be able to test the entire project form design to runtime front end properly? Without this component you will not be able to perform Professionals simulations. To acquire it, an additional license is needed as you can see in the following link: "SIMATIC WinCC V17 Runtime (TIA Portal)" I hope I have clarified your doubt.
