WinCC-Server Download- "Changes Only"

zerepegro Posts: 183 Rating: (8)	Hi there; In my experience this happends sometimes becuse the comunication through the simatic shell in not well configured. Be sure the status of the projects monitorized from the ES is OK.

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi all, What ER_VT said is correct. My be this is a bug. I shall tell u what exactly happened at the site where in we are commissioning the PCS7 project. For the first time we downloaded the entire project to the Server and it was all success. Later the OS on the server was put in runtime. A few days later, minor changes were made on the graphics. The same was compiled on the ES and when we treid for "Download-->Changes only", it gives the same message "Master not active. Online changes not possible". Thru simatic shell we are able to view all the PC's connected on the network. Regards Nil

Saygin Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi all I had same problem about Changes download first.But then I realized some rules before begining OS Download.we have 2 OSStation and 1 Engineering Station. 1)First of all you should check Compile method that must be compiled as a changes.(As probably you know) 2)All OS Stations must be downloaded indivudually from Engineering Station and must have same WinCC data.(Entire Download) 3)Afterthese you can download changesto OSServers. 4)for example Graphic Designeror other functions of WinCC are opened in OS Stations, and you tried to download last changes toOS Server from Engineering Station .You will get a error message.After that youcan makejustEntire download.Systemcan prevent todownload as an Changes Download. Otherevent I met, in Engineering StationI made some changes in some PDL files.And then Itried to startOS download before WinCC is notclosedprecisely.then againI gotan Error Message.PCS7prevented todownload as a Changes.I had to download"Entire"..

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi Saygin, I do agree with the procedure what u stated. Following is what I noticed on the ES. In the ES when we right click the PC station name and select "compile & download", it clearly states the operating mode of OS as "Not Open". But the OS is in runtime. More over when the OS is in runtime, the Operating mode should be shown as "activated". By this what I understand is that, ES is unable to capture the OS operating mode correcly, which is why it never allows for download-->changes. Regards Nil

We have WinCC 7.0SP1 (without HFx) + Step754SP5. Of course ES and OS we can see in the shell. We tried to do many solution - ex.: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=33123687&caller=view And still we can only download Entire WinCC Project... :-( Attachment OS_NotOpen_LoadChangesNotPossible.JPG (512 Downloads)

RKarczewski Posts: 107 Rating: (1)	Everything was sayed before. My question is for the same situation, but not for PSC7. The same problem we have on WinCC and Step7 (PCS7 has the same configuration, operation for download changes). My Simatic Manager on ES can't see opened and avtivated (runtime) WinCC project on the OS. In the Shell everything are configured. Computer and projects are available from OS on ES, and on ES from OS. And download Entire program working now. And we can't download only changes. On the file we see what see Simatic Manager. WinCC project on OS is not open. Why? What is wrong with configuration, shell, firewall is stop.

I asked more detail to know better what he did. And, yes, the other question is without answer right now, maybe because some info are missing. I'm sure is some mistake in network configuration: "Simatic Shell" or "User right" or something like firewall and antivirus. Sometimes i had trouble about this problem when customers wanted a commercial PC instead a Siemen preassembled PC. commercial PC is cheaper for sure...but do you know how much time need to install and configure correctly? In my experience I got same problem when i did something wrong...corrected (check user rights, simatic shell, configuraton consol, windowsnetwork configuration) and everything start to work fine. The best way to solve it (for that particular situation) should be call local custmer support for help. reagrds
