The TIA Portal WinCC V13 Update 4 Basic Simulator does not work for me. If I open a new project, add a V13 HMI such as a KTP700 or KTP900, then try to Simulate, the Simulator crashes as soon as it opens.

Any thoughts? Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having the same problem with KTP700 simulation.

I have Tia V13 Update 6, and the simulation is like freezed.

Others panels'simulation are ok.

It is the same for me. I am using a KTP400 and when I try to simulate my screen I can only see the desktop windows through the screen.

Does someone know any solution?.

Maybe because of the Virtual Machine. the matter is that some HMI can be simulated and  others no.

I've got the same problem and I've understand that is some TIA issue related to using a virtual machine and simulate e basic panel 2nd version.

In the same VM simulation of a comfort panel works fine so it's not a memory leak problem.

If you're using virtualbox as vm then you have to enable 3D acceleration under display settings. You've to install/start the vm in shave mode for that once. No need to enable 2D (which seems to slow down, luckily tia is very fast, not so:)

For me I was then able to simulate the 2e gen (what a name) hmi's like tp700/900/1200.

Good to hear comfort panels are working without.

Siemens: What the heck is 3D needed for? Probably the simulation is calling some (silently failing) 3D calls?

Hello,

I experienced the same problems (No screen in RT Simulator) as described in this thread with a KTP900 basic. TIA portal is running in VMware and thanks to the heads up about the "3D graphics" I am now able to simulate the HMI.

In VMware this setting is found under Virtual Machine Settings -> Hardware -> Display -> 3D graphics checkbox "Accelerate 3D graphics".

Just to infrom you that simulation of KTP700 DOES NOT work even on V13 SP1 Upd8.

My machine has enough resources, and almost all other HMI simulators work (proved KTP400, KTP600, KTP1000, Comfort panels, RT Advanced).

Graphics ATI 4GB DDR5.

It is bug in TIA 100%.

are you working in a virtual machine, too, or not?
(I don't see any Problem in my VM with KTP700 Basic PN, 8GB Ram, similar Windows (but 32 bit),
TIA V13 SP1 Up 4 or outside the VM.)

8GB is a bit low if you are sharing it with a VM, should still work tough.

Is your system unrated or is that a real Windows experience index? Because if so there is some incredibly small bottleneck somewhere.

Maybe the simulation of the ktp700 has a problem with a special system function some are using and some not?

Does it behave the same way on ist own or connected to the PLC?

Does it show the screen in a wrong way (are the lines artifacts?) and hides elements thar should be visible?

Not working in VM, pure Win7 x64 SP1.

Even "Global Setting" were set to "High perfomance NVIDIA processor", i had to

PUT MANUALY Siemens "BIN" folder (one with .exe files) in list of application that use high prefomance processor.

I have the same problem with starting simulator in v.14.1 on Windows 10. I just change device version to 13, compile and then change to 14.1. Then everything ok
