WinCC V7.0 SP2 Permissions

Please check the assignment of the current user of the user groups in Windows." The windows login user nameis of course part of the "SIMATIC HMI GROUP" user group on the target machine. What could be the cause of this problem?

Hi, Login as a administrator and try the same and if it is working we can confirm that there is no problem with the installation. or If you get the error only in the user login please see the below attachement for the authorization for the user account in my PC. One more thing, you can check in the services (Run=> Services.msc) for starting of all WinCC related services and if you feel some of the services are not running, you can enable the required services in the msconfig (Run => msconfig) You can check in the SQL database also weather all the services are running as shown in the attachment. Is from another thread in the forum about floating point In computer management , users , member of ... there should be at least two user right groups , one to do with HMI and the other with sql access ,we always select 'admin' and remove the 'user' group .see pic The last part in the SQL group refers to the PC name and will be different on your machine. What could be the cause of this problem? Are you trying this with Remote Desktop or locally on the PC? With Remote Desktop, you can also have strange effects if you don't connect to console.

Komi Posts: 291 Rating: (69)	Hi KiwiEng, My I ask you about that: are you taking a WinCC project from other computer & want to run it right at your current PC ? I guess you already know the user should be of the following groups (at least): ● Administraors ● SIMATIC HMI ● SQL Server 2005 MSSQL User$________$WinCC ($________$ Your PCName inside) ● Debug Users You may type "Net user yourusername" to check the current Group-Settings for a specific user. (at shown in the attachment. "DM_User" & "SQL Server 2005 DTS User" are not necessary!!) But, 1. Just like aiknoa & SteBo have already said. It matters when you try to logon to remote SQL-Server or run a project just taken from other PC. The authorication is base on the previously set "ServerName\ServiceName" for logging onto SQL-Server. This will be a problematic point. Unless you're taking use "SIMATIC Logon" which has a management for the associated instance of SQL Server Integration Services in SQL Server 2005. 2. Thus,...supposed that you want to run a project taken from other computer, then you'll need to check the "SIMATIC Logon" has been used or not in the original computer (as the attachment). If so, remove the usage firstly in the original computer! & ...try usually group settings in your current computer. Sorry, just guessing & for your information. The problem has been resolved by deleting the entire WinCC project from the target machine and its parent folder from the target machine and downloading it again. This would indicate that the problem lay with the windows security/permissions attached to the directories associated with the WinCC project. The following points should be noted: 1. The WinCC project is part of an integrated STEP7 project. It should be noted that compiling and downloading the WinCC project did not fix the problem. 2. The windows users on the target machine were already part of the "Simatic HMI" and "SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$<computername>$WinCC" user groups. The work around of deleting the project directory and files is fine at this point as is is a new installation. However for an existing installation with populated alarm and process archives, deleting the project folder is not an option. Does anyone have any ideas on how to rectify a directory permissions problem properly?

Talking to some other wincc specialist they also had the problem , they did the same as you to solve the problem .they also contacted Siemens and were told to install the latest update for Wincc V7 SP2 its update 4.
