windows vista success

wa4dc2 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone- I have softcomfort version 4. I reciently upgraded my machines to windows vista. I have figured out how to run this version on my pc's, however I need to run version 5. I had upgraded to version 5 on my old machines via internet. Is there a way to do this without buying a new ver 5 disk? I appear to have done it. I have softcomfort ver. 5.0.22 running on vista without the cd. I'm trying to get my steps together for a post here in a while. Ok- follow the previously mentioned proceedure to allow ver. 4 to run from cd. Open sc and update from update center your version one update at a time to bring it as current as possible before choosing ver. 5. I had to update java before this would work. Do not select finish when version 5 opens to ask for language option, instead proceed to select language, accept terms, etc. The installation window locks up after a while requiring ctl alt del to close. Then check your hard drive for a new folder- usr>local>bin>siemens>logocomfort_V5. Change icon properties, compatability as before. Start pgm from here and select update center for ver .22 upgrade. Works. No cd required.

Fux Posts: 661 Rating: (123)	Hello dimnikar, you followed the instructions Manfred posted and get an error anyway? - download the upgrade (to V6.1) - double-click the setup.exe of the downloaded upgrade - insert the original CD-ROM - root the path to the CD-ROM during the upgrade process
