Dear Experts, One of our customers wanted to monitor on WinCC Runtime the level of different water tanks on various location. The nearest remote IO (ET200M - connected via profibus) is approximately 80 to 100 meters and the farthest is around 200 meters. Wiring these signals to the AI card will require long signal wires from the transmitter to remote IO. We've come up on using Wireless Hart technology for this project but found out that Siemens discountinued the supply of IE/WSN-PA link (Wireless HART Gateway). We are now, looking for other Wireless HART Gateways from other manufacturer like Phoenix Contact etc. Our problem now, is how are we going to add on Hardware Configuration these Wireless HART transmitters? Weve triied downloading configuration file of the Phoenix Contact gateway that we found on the web but wasnt able to add that on Hardware Configuration Catalaog via install GSD command. Below are important links about this solution: Siemens Wireless Hart Technology : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFASdYPzjvQ&list=UUjGnWvKCoki-W8VE8f49lBQ&index=172 Phoenix Contact Wireless HART Gateway: http://www.phoenixcontact.net/microsites/wireless-hart/889.htm https://www.phoenixcontact.com/online/portal/us?uri=pxc-oc-itemdetail:pid=2900178&library=usen&tab=1 I've also attached sample system architecture. Kindly see attached file for your reference. Best regards, boycemento |

The Phoenix Contact Wireless HART gateway is wireless HART on the field side and either Modbus TCP protocol (Modbus server, not a client/master) or the HART/IP protocol on the system/host side, as the clip from the spec sheet describes. link to Phoenix Contact spec sheet extract You'll only find a GSD for the Profibus/net protocol. I think what you were seeking is a Modbus/TCP master/Profibus gateway, because most, if not industrial all Wireless Gateways are Modbus/TCP servers on the host side. The alternative, HART/iP does not generate a lot of press. I have yet to read how someone has dervice value from it. But you could be the first . . . |
