wiring power supply 300

hi everybody 

i want to design PLC panel. i decided to use on P.S for PLC cards and one P.S for produce signal for DI (field power supply). is it true?

let me description more: now i use P.S307 for DI cards to powered them. and i have for example one level switch i use another P.S for this level switch to produce 24v. see attached file

if anyone have one data sheet to show how design PLC panel pleas send to me.

 Hi mansoorkhan1,

The part number is required for the DI module but in general you have to take following precautions while the designing the panel.

1. the DI module if in common you have to provide -ve of power supply then for the DI channel you will require to have +ve of the power supply.

2. The power supply used to provide the power the field instruments and the common provided to the DI module must have the common reference then and then only the DI will be sensed by module. Thus if you are using separate power for field instruments then its common and DI module common must be shorted so as to provide the common reference point for potential difference

First, you have to connect all the 0V DC from all power supplies together to have one reference voltage level to all of your system.

And as AYMAN said, usually the Digital Input module does not require +24V DC, but it requires 0V DC.

If you are a beginner and you want to just make this design for your testing/learning, you can use only one power supply for everything, just make sure that it has enough current capacity to power all your components and don't forget to protect the power supply with fuses.

In that you will find that you need 24V to get DI state logic 1 and 0 volts for logic 0

You need to wire the field instrument by 24V whenever your instrument gets the feedback as desired it will pass 24 to DI module channel and your logic will get Logic "1"

and Yes Amazing Ahmed wants to say that in the present if there are more then 1 power supplies of 24 then you need to connect -ve of all the power supp. to a single terminal block and short it
