I need to know how to wire a 2-wire or 4-wire transmitter to SB1231 1AI, 0-20mA.

I can't find reliable information about it.

Is it the same way as we used to wire the old EM231 for S7-200?

Order number 6ES7 231-4HA30-0XB0.

I am using the last versions of S7-1200 System Manual 03/2014, and is not clear how to connect 2-wire or 4-wire 0-20mA transmitters to this SB.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your answer, but I think we are looking at different manuals. I am using S7-1200 System Manual 03/2014.

There is none concerning SB 1231 AI 1x12bit in page 987, the description of the analog SB starts at page 946, item A.12.1, and there is no mention about how to use transmitters with this signal board.

I have extensively read the whole item more than once, and the only mention about the board wiring is the poor Table A-209.

I can find similarities between SB1231 y EM231 (S7-200), but that is not enough for me to decide on how to wire the SB1231. I think SIEMENS should be clearer and give more precise information about it.

Any suggestions?

Try searching your System manual for this term:

SB 1231 AI x 12 bit (6ES7 231-4HA30-0XB0)

This should point you right to the wiring diagram and the connector pin out.

In order to measure current in the signal board, you must connect pins 'R' and '0+' as well as configure the signal board for current in TIA Portal.

For voltage, disconnect pins 'R' and '0+' as well as configure the signal board for voltage in TIA Portal.

Look for "Update to the S7-1200 System Manual, edition 01/2015" (s71200_manual_update_en-US-01-2015_en-US.pdf), page 9.

With that wiring you can use the SB 1231 AI 1 (6ES7231-4HA30-0XB0) with current transducers (2-wire or 4-wire).
