Writing outputs but not reading inputs in PROFIBUS Network with CP-342

     I am working on a PROFIBUS network with a CPU 314 and a CP-342 since the CPU doesn't have any DP capabilities, it's just for tests but the actual project will be done with a 312C CPU. I have configured the FC1 and FC2 that are necessary for the communication between the CPU and the CP; I have created one DB to send the outputs from and another one to receive the inputs in, the only error it gave me was that at first the input DB was not big enough, I fixed it and it doesn't give me any error anymore, the problem is that it writes the outputs correctly in the slaves but won't receive the inputs from them.

     I am not using TIA portal because the project will have a Multi-Panel for which we don't have the lincese, we'll integrate it with WincC flexible 2008; I am attaching a screenshot of the configuration of the FCs, but I really haven't found a way to add more than one attachment. the two DBs are created equal, and the hardware config is OK since there are no error reports anymore; the input address of the two modules in the two slaves I'm using are 0..1 and 2..3, that's why I'm receiving 4 bytes.

How big is Datablock 2?

     Thanks for your reply, it doesn't give me any error, in the status word I receive 0000H and sometimes it moves from this to 8180H constantly, but even when it stays in 0000H I can't get the inputs. Data Block 2 is twelve bytes big, but I only created the first bit of that twelveth byte, and I'm only using byte 10 to send to the outputs, those are okay, the thing is with the inputs.

     Actually that article was the one I used to configure the communication, I tried downloading everything again, and actually changed some things in the DB and the functions, here's the DB. What could be possibly happening here? I really can't think of anything given I configured everything like in the article. The only thing I think I can try now is instead of using a DB using M marks to receive the inputs, but it should work with the DB. Still writing the outputs but not getting the inputs; I changed the two DBs.

     I could only run this test today, and I won't be able to try again until next week. In the next post I'll upload the DB.

PS: Isn't it possible to add more than one attachment to a post?
