Hello everyone, I am planning to use a Siemens S7-1200 PLC as a master controller for a MOVIMOT VFD from SEW Drive to manage motor operations. According to the manufacturer's documentation (SEW-Eurodrive Manual), it's suggested to connect the VFD MM03C with an RS-485 Busmaster. I'm looking to understand if I can apply the same principles for connecting the Siemens S7-1200 as shown in the figure within the linked document. Specifically, I need guidance on whether the wiring and communication setup depicted would be compatible with the S7-1200. Has anyone here undertaken a similar project, or can anyone provide insights or resources on setting this up correctly? Thank you for your help! |

So that is the old Movimot D. You have two options, 1. you need to buy a RS485 capable module for the 1200, because it doesn't have native RS485 build in to the module. 2. buy a Profinet expansion module to the Movimot D unit, then you can utilize the native Profinet your PLC has. |
