SIMATIC Field PG4 - upgade the Operating system to Windows 7

wendtr Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I am using a SIMATIC Field PG4 with Microsoft Windows XP SP3 Operating system. What are all the solutions available from Siemens to upgade the Operating system to Windows 7. Is it possible to install Windows 7 and licences in a seperate Siemens Hard drive and use whenever required becouse XP is also required to maintain old machines. Regards, Ramesh

Devil2theDriver Posts: 33 Rating: (3)	Hi, why not just install Windows 7 yourself? The drivers for all operation systems released for the Field PG M4 are on your "Software for Field PG M4"-DVD. In case of loss, you can get the drivers from the customer support. The only thing that is "special" with the Field PG are the SIMATIC components (S7 Card Reader/CP5711) which are getting their drivers from Step7 5.5 or higher. best regards, Devil2theDriver

Tecon Advanced Member Joined: 2/22/2012 Last visit: 8/29/2024 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	The licence label should be on the bottom of the M4, mine after 5+ years is still readible ;) Works with "generic" Win7 Ultimate instalation disk too. If you got acces to the previous windows 7 instalation, all of the drivers should be in "X:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository", and on new system you can just select this folder on old harddrive to install all of them manualy.
