EXTF LED 417-H (wrong indication)

As per support website information there was an update on : Update V3.0.0 (6ES7 417-4HL01-0AB0) https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll/6741018?nodeid0=24206950&func=ll&objId=24204723&objAction=csView&lang=en&siteid=cseus&aktprim=0&extranet=standard&load=treecontent I am using 6ES7 417-4HL04-0AB0. So I am wondering if anybody out there expirence the same problem. See Attachment for Diagnosebuffer. Up to the last 2 entries the EXTF indication wos on, on the Master as well as on the standby CPU. I am sure there was no fault on any of my slaves until the last 2 entries. Now all is fine. Because I have 5 more complete 417H Sytem in my project and a lot of Y - Link / DP PA slaves I don´t want to come to the point again. Cheers, Hannes Attachment DiagnoseTrain1OK.zip (618 Downloads)

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, well, first of all I would upgrade your CPUs to the latest version of the Firmware, which is V4.0.10 this can be found at: Operating System Updates for CPU412-3H / CPU414-4H / CPU414-4H PG / CPU417-4H Choose the Version of CPU you use and update, it is really necessary. tryme23 Posts: 8 Rating: (1)	Hi, I don´t want and my project manager doesn´t allow me, do update firmware just because of "maybe it helps" --> Firmware updates can bring you complete system down. What if anything goes wrong ? For every Firmware update there have to be an exact description / revision on what is the change from minor to major items. The description on the support site from Siemens doesn´t tell me that it will solve my problem. So, for what reason I shell risk an update ? If there is a more detailed description where it is clear stated that my problem will be solved, pls. let me know. Cheers, Hannes

They are marked as External error so the external Error LED was lightning. Seams that now all PROFIBUS slaves workes as the configured. All entries I have seen belong to the PROFIBUS slaves with the address 6, 7 and 8. Only the last 2 belong to Station 6. What happend with this stations? Hope you will find the reason.
