COMOS - How can the base object of an engineering object be changed?

Hello,

I know that it is possbile to change the base object (b) of a device (a) with the command:

a.cdevice = b

But is there  a better way which is similar to the action on the tab "General"?

you can use this short script for it:

'A is the engineering object (Device)
'B is the new base object (CDevice)

Set X = A.Workset.Lib.Device
X.CDeviceChange A,B
If (A.Workset.CheckAll = 0) Then A.Workset.SaveAll
