DP DP Coupler not reconnecting

Skjeggestad Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a problem withDP DP couplers that don't reconnect after a PB linebreak. Please see the system on attached schematic. When I test redundancy, by pulling the line from AC800Mon DP DP A and insert it back, all LED's are on (SF2, BF2 flashing, rest is steady). It stays like this, until I: 1: pull the line into network 1 on DP DP B, then a redundancy switch is made and DP DP A reconnects. But then DP DP B is not reconnected. 2: pull/reinsert or turns off end resistor on network 2 on DP DP A. All seems thennormal. If I pull/reinsert line from AC870P (network 2), it reconnects without a problem. Observations: Pulling network 1 lines: SF1 and BF1 is steady on. Pulling network 2 lines: SF1, SF2 and BF2 is steady on. When I have this flashing as described above, it seems like the network 2 is on and off. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Skjeggestad, well... I have to admit the by you shown bus seems to be more than a bit strange to. I admit I have no idea how ABB and Pasys handles redundancy but on PROFIBUS only one DP Master is able to work with a DP Slave. Sadly I also do not know which PROFIBUS plug you finally unplugged so it is hard to decide if it is maybe a problem of the missing termination on the Bus itself. I would say the best way to know what is going on would be to figure out how this "redundancy" works and to check if the traffic on the Bus is affected someway. Personally I have never seen such a behavior ofsuch a DP Slave if it is reconnected to a running DP Master system. Best regards J_Bell
