fazal hussain Posts: 42 Rating: (0)	Hi, I want to connect a bit from my program as a cause to a safety matrix. The manual says that you have to add a # prefix to the cause tag. I did that and can see the input in the CFC thats created for the matrix but it is of the type f-bool. And it wont accept connections to boolean tags How can i connect my logic with the safety matrix?

[:blush:] But when i try to use these i get an error during compilation: E:F-Parameter 'Matrix(1)\@Matrix(1)\C1\Tag1_B_1' illegally connected across Partial Shutdown Groups 'SafetyMatrix34' and 'xxx' [Remedy 1: if the connection is between channel driver and module driver blocks, check that the interconnection address at the channel driver's VALUE parameter addresses the correct module. The two blocks should be within the same Partial Shutdown Group. Remedy 2: Connections between Partial Shutdown Groups must use communication blocks F_S_R, F_R_R or F_S_BO, F_R_BO ] E:F-Parameter 'Matrix(1)\2\OUT' illegally connected across Partial Shutdown Groups 'xxx' and 'SafetyMatrix34' [Remedy 1: if the connection is between channel driver and module driver blocks, check that the interconnection address at the channel driver's VALUE parameter addresses the correct module. cabreytj Silver Member Joined: 5/18/2006 Last visit: 10/21/2020 Posts: 170 Rating: (64)	When you inserted the F-convert block it either got inserted in a different OB than the Safety Matrix or in a Run Time Group outside of the Safety Matix Partial Shutdown Group. The safest thing to do is insert the F-convert block into the same Run Time Group as the Safety Matrix. To do this cut your F-convert block from existing chart then change the predessor for insertion to the safety matrix Run Time Group and then put the f-convert on the CFC with the safety matrix block. Hope this helps PS: I would avoid using the F-communication blocks by doing the above. If the F-convert block must remain in a different partial shutdown group/OB then these f-communication blocks (described in the error message from your post) will be required, in addtion to the F-convert block.

fazal hussain Posts: 42 Rating: (0)	hi, thanks for the reply. i followed the instructions and now the @matrix cfc and the converter block are in the same cfc, same runtime group in ob34. and everythings working just like i wanted.[:xxx:] however the runtime properties box of the converter block shows a "?" in edit/offline mode.although it appears ok in runtime. can this cause any kind of problems?

It is used to let the user know that the block operation is controlled by logic (and for safety the safety shutdown block/chart, @F_SHUTDN, controlssafety block operation). In the offline view this is displayed as a ''?'. In the online view it should be clear/invisibleif everything OK or a red '!'if block operatioin has been stopped.
