Installing drivers for PCAN-miniPCIe on IOT2050 - Problem

If I go on the peak-system website it does say that for Linux, the drivers are included. Running the verification command to check for them says that the drivers are not present: root@iot2050-debian:~# grep PEAK_ /boot/config-`uname -r` # CONFIG_CAN_PEAK_PCIEFD is not set # CONFIG_CAN_PEAK_USB is not set Manually downloading and getting them on my IOT2050 (path is /opt/PCAN_drivers/peak-linux-driver-8.16.0/) I am running "sudo make" to build them, which generates the following problem: root@iot2050-debian:/opt/PCAN_drivers/peak-linux-driver-8.16.0# sudo make make[1]: Entering directory '/opt/PCAN_drivers/peak-linux-driver-8.16.0/driver' Makefile:131: * "Unable to automatically find the Kernel headers. These are mandatory to build the pcan driver. Please set the KERNEL_LOCATION variable to the root directory of your own built Kernel.". Done E: Unable to locate package linux-headers-5.10.64 E: Couldn't find any package by glob 'linux-headers-5.10.64' E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'linux-headers-5.10.64' From my understanding, I do have to manually install "headers" in order to be able to build/install PCAN-miniPCIe drivers. I was not able to find them anywhere and another solution I've read is to upgrade the kernel version (currently running 5.10.64) in hope that it will have the necessary "headers". Has anyone experienced this before or has any knowledge that may help me? Thank you kindly! Best regards!

I think that you would need to build a customized Example Image with those flags enabled: # CONFIG_CAN_PEAK_PCIEFD # CONFIG_CAN_PEAK_USB I can't state where to exactly do this, but I guess in this file. How to build an own image is described in the main readme. Best regards!

I have succsefully installed the packages "meta-iot2050" (https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2050) and "isar" (https://github.com/ilbers/isar). Using the non-root user "test" (but with the necessary priviliges) I am succsefully running the command "./kas-container menu" in the directory "meta-iot2050" and open the "IOT2050 Image Configuration". Also I have manually specified the two flags mentioned earlier as follows (in the file mentioned by you in the previous comment): CONFIG_CAN_PEAK_PCIEFD=y CONFIG_CAN_PEAK_USB=y I now kindly request guidance on the options to be chosen in the "IOT2050 Image Configuration" to create the correct image I need. To be concrete, I want to install the drivers for the PCAN-miniPCIe drivers and some other CAN tools for Node-RED. This was undoable without the necessary headers in the Kernel. PS: Worth mentioning is that upon receiving the IOT2050, I have started from the image "IOT2050_Example_Image_V1.2.2" and using this image I have added packages and tools for my project. The project is achieving a data translation from CAN communication to MQTT using Node-RED and several other tools. Doing this on the IOT2050, as mentioned, right now I need the install the drivers for the PCAN-miniPCIe and also run the can-utils. I must admit that I have started working on the IOT2050 2 months ago and do not have past working experience with other IOT20X0 device or Linux.
