Can Node-RED only be upgraded to version 2.2.2 and node.js 12.22.12?

I installed node.js version v16.13.0 and updated Node-RED to v3.0.2. It didn't update inside the browser, it stayed in version v2.2.2 although inside the PuTTY it said 3.0.2 and at the end it said insecmented. Then I upgraded to node.js 18.16.0, and it put Node-RED inside the insecmented terminal. You can only Node-RED up to version 2.2.2 and node.js 12.22.12?
