Dear Sir, We have a project using Sivacon S8 from Siemens. We used Simocode Pro V Ethernet IP for the motor load. However, our customer uses Modbus TCP/IP for their SCADA system. We have to convert from ethernet IP to Modbus TCP/IP. And we have the same problem as others. They want to connect multi masters to our device ( Simocode ProV) (from SCADA, PLC, PSMCS,..). How come? Can you help me to answer their question? Thank you a lot!

Hello; I am not sur about the extent of your question, from the answer you may decide to clarify a few details on your original question. Let me tell you what I know. - Modbus/TCP allows for multiple client ("master") on the Ethernet network. "And with Modbus TCP there is the ability for a network designer to use multiple masters if they so choose." https://www.rtautomation.com/rtas-blog/multiple-masters/ - You will need some type of gateway(protocol converter) between your Modbus/TCP networlk and your Ethernet/IP nodes,, such as this one from Moxa: or this one from SST Automation: There are many more models available from different manufacturers,I suggest you find one with local support for a beginner's project. And if you provide us with a sketch of your network topology, showing the different nodes you wnt to connect, maybe we can offer more suggestions. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
