Hi, i want a silent installation to a different path but installation helper (setup.exe -?) doesnt offer it I can do a manual installation to a different path. Even after a manual installation to different path and do a change in control panel -> programs & features -> and export configuration in the created yml file the path is not included. So how to achieve that? what I tried: 1. WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64.exe C:\Windows\Apps\Siemens\wincc_oa\desktopui\3.19 /passive SUPPRESSREBOOT=1 /log C:\Windows\Logs\WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64_install.log 2. WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64.exe INSTALLDIR=C:\Windows\Apps\Siemens\wincc_oa\desktopui\3.19 /passive SUPPRESSREBOOT=1 /log C:\Windows\Logs\WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64_install.log 3. WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64.exe /quiet C:\Windows\Apps\Siemens\wincc_oa\desktopui\3.19 SUPPRESSREBOOT=1 /log C:\Windows\Logs\WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64_install.log 4. WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64.exe /quiet INSTALLDIR=C:\Windows\Apps\Siemens\wincc_oa\desktopui\3.19 SUPPRESSREBOOT=1 /log C:\Windows\Logs\WinCC_OA_Desktop_UI_3.19_x64_install.log None is installing it to the correct path, it always installs to C:\Siemens\Automation\WinCC_OA\DesktopUI\3.19 /quiet, /passive, /log all these parameters do work I need a solution for this, we must not install to c:\siemens\..\... Any known way to extract the MSI from the EXE so I can edit the install path in MSI directly? Regards, Sascha |

The new 3.20 version, which will be released shortly (the documents from it are already available), has more options too choose from to install. The UI can be installed as an own option, so it is not needed to install the DesktopUI anymore. Perhaps also take a look at the product packaging documentation, it seems that the MSI are also available. But perhaps the best course is to make an official request to be able to set the installation path for the DesktopUI. |

Got an answer from Siemens support: "the issue was fixed / implemented and will be released with the next version WinCC OA 3.19 P013. will be released next week" but this doesnt help a lot because server and desktopUI have to be on the same version and server cant be updated in short time and so we have to do install manually. I would say that both are the same version, namely 3.19. Technically it is no problem to mix versions. Technically the MobileUI and DesktopUI are the same. However the MobileUI is officially supported to connect with older server versions due to the fact there can only be a single version in the store. |
