What is the meaning of a Process object?

Gromit Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hello Reading the PCS 7 box brochure I noticed this: * Software SIMATIC PCS 7 engineering software V6.0 Licenses AS/OS for 250 PO (can be expanded with PowerPack on 2000 PO) * -What the 250 Process objects mean? Does bit, byte, word or dword equal to one Process object? -How many I/O can I connect to the PCS box - 250? -Is the ET200 the only way to conncet I/0s to the PCS? -If I need Analog inputs and outputs? Do they include into that 250? -For example if I need 100 analog Inputs (1 word long), 100 analog outputs and 50 digital I/Os, does the PCS 7 box license cover that configuration/ Thanx

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi, a process object is e.g. a pump, valve,....with an average amount of corresponding signals/tags in WinCC, check chapter 3.6.x: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21406001 ET200 modules are the preferred modules, because for them you can use the CFC-driver blocks - which will ease/fasten your engineering. You should contact your nearest siemens sales person, who will check your configuration and certainly help you to choose the perfect components [:D] nemo

Gromit Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	OK. But, how many I/Os /digital and analog/ could I connect to a PCS7 Box. Are there any limmitations? As I understood I can display only 250 variables on the Scada / it does not matter if the var is a bit, byte, word or dword /. Is that right? Regards
