be.true Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Hi all! I've been told that some DO modules offer startup substitution capability. I just wonder how it works. If I preset the substitution value to "false" while according to my user logic, the channel should be "true" when user logic is executed, then what is the value after cold restart/warm restart/hot restart? With other DO modules which do not offer startup substitution, can I use CH_DO to fulfill the substitution?

For fear that your precious eyes be tortured, I just attach one sheet this time. This program isa general-purpose unidirectional drive control routine. Theoutput of the AND function "control output" is connected directly to the DO channel which manipulates the On/Off of a field device (e.g. a motor). The problem is: when system recovers from a power down and, before power down, the DO channel was ON and field device was running, when system recovers, shall this DO channel be ON again? Could it be different when warm restart or cold restart is chosen? Thanks a lot!!! Attachment screen1.jpg (660 Downloads)

Actually I do not care for the module characteristics too much because I can not do anything about it, it's SIEMENS' property and SIEMENS' duty. I care for the behavior of my logic, it's my property and my duty. Suppose some clientasks: can you guarantee the safety of myequipment with your logic and reduce my hardware cost to minimum...[8)] You have checked the logic in my attachment, how do you think of it?Is it likely to produce unintended output during warm/cold restart? I need your guidance! Thanks!

Anyway it´s quite important for your logicthat e.g. the those blocks, which are connected to theinputs of your AND-module are located in a position BEFORE the AND-Block (in your run sequence) => I´d place the those blocks in the same run sequence.... nemo
