Siemens pump sequence problem

jonasmoeller Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have a tank that is filled with water eventually, and 3 pumps pump 1 starts with level 2 being reached, and after 20 minutes it has run it starts the next pump etc. I have 3 different levels in the tank (analogue and digital measurements for safety) I need to know how can i do it so whenever it is below level 1 it will stop all pump, so i don't put in closed contacts in the middle of my program, makes it confusing. So level 1 reached = pump 1, pump 2, pump 3 OFF

Piotr.M Platinum Expert Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/1/2024 Posts: 1651 Rating: (422)	True of course solution posted above is just an example how to implement logic this is BASE for project. on top of it you must implement - manual/auto run - error handling - dry run protection - maybe some form of duty/standby to ensure uneven wear of the pumps so they will not require maintenance at the same time - SAFETY i.e. estops/guards/etc.

Jeff Casagrande Posts: 1529 Rating: (202)	I was just going to suggest that - standard pump features - equalization of pump running hours. - manual/test mode - overload monitoring and fault shut down - plus the run based on level.

Piotr.M Platinum Expert Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/1/2024 Posts: 1651 Rating: (422)	Hi Have an dint variable for each pump and increment it every second pump is running PULSE_1s I_Pump_Running -----\| \|---------------\| \|---------------\|INC\| PUMP_RUNTIME-\| \| then for hmi divide pump runtime by 3600 to get hours the PULSE_1s can be obtained from clock memory 1s wave: CLOCK_1s PULSE_1s ----\|P\|-----------------------() FP_CLOCK_1s the FP variable must be STAT / DB / Marker the CLOCK is 1s wave from Clock Memory (you must configure clock memory in HW Config)
