can you run it from the 'Commissionng--Control Panel'?

maybe add some screenshots of your setup and configuratons.

Hi, for a start, why are you using a GSD file, just load the G120C from the catalogue.

What operating mode have you set for the FC blocks? W#16#0 or W#16#80 etc

Make sure Your PN items have IDENTICAL profinet names as per your hardware config, this is the most likely thing that causes issues like this.

Make sure Your first hardware address starts at 0.

Don't forget to add placeholders for IOPs and IOCs in the DB you are using. Remember, 1 bit per byte.

If you hit F1 whilst highlighting the FC, then you can see the description of input parameters, and also any status codes you might be seeing.

Obvious one, don't forget to call the block via OB1, or a subordinate call.

And after changing or assigning a name / PN address, a power cycle of the drive is usually appropriate.  Sometimes it comes online after assigning name/PN address. Sometimes it does not.  Depends on something I have not quite figured out.  Could it be firmware, or Portal integration, or drive capability?  I do not know.

Steps *I* follow are slightly different (for G120/S120 anyway):

[OFFLINE]

Drag control unit from hardware catalog into Devices & Networks.  Set the name / PN address needed for the project in the device properties.

Drag in additional drive components as required - depends on drive type - into available device slot

Drag in telegram for the project from hardware catalog into proper device slot

Set the telegram I/O to something other than the defaults so I can re-use the device config, logic/tags across projects without any changes.

In Devices & Networks, connect up new drive to profinet network (click-drag between PN ports from PLC to VFD)

Compile hardware changes.

Add FC to set control word to a default OFF state that at least has bit 10 on so you can get comms working.

Call that FC from OB1 (can be moved later once it is communicating).

Compile software.

Download hardware & software (changes).

Go Online with PLC

Use Online Access to find new drive.

Assign PN name and address.

See new name/address appear in online access after a few seconds.

See if they start showing green checkbox in Project tree.

Power cycle VFD (stay online with PLC).

See if green checkbox appears for VFD.
