hi everyone, 

for my Bachelor-Thesis im suppose to make a Lab Trainer Sysytem fully automated using PCS7 . 

its a Festo academic trainer with pumps and reservoirs . 

i contacted the companny and they said that i have to use Trainer package ET200SP , for example ET200SP Digital Profinet 6ES7155-6AU00-0AB0 and then select the other approved analog modules(for PCS7) . 

i did asked for more Informations but i got no Answer.

can u please help me make this Job done , its so important and i just need to know the Start

the project is at my university and we use PCS7 V9.0 there and we have a valid Licence .

the information i need is how to connect the already existing cpu400 with my system and then control te system

Hello nicosub;

As Thunderstorm has already mentioned, we have no idea of the system you want to control, the equipment that is on it, and how you decided to connect to them. This is a necessary step or anyone starting an automation project.

At this time, we expect you, as the project programmer, to create an Excel file (Word would do as wel) detailing the different sensors, valves, actuators, instruments in that Festo table, with their manufacturer and part numbers (so we can research them if needed). 

Then we need for every one of these equipment to know how the controller (your S7-400 under PCS 7) will be connected to them: digital I/O, analog I/O, fieldbus (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus...). This will help us determine the number of I/O points required, and the connections you need to establish. Then we can talk about how to connect those to your PLC.

Process details of these equipment should be also provided, such as the type of valves and pumps used (we need to know how to control them, which type and range of signal must be sent to open/close or run them).

Once we have these informations we can start discussing the control philosophy of the process.: when to start, the sequence of initialization and startup, the operational sequence (which equipment must be open before another can start, for example), the process limits (max pressures and levels, possibly)..

And somehow I have the feeling that this is what your teacher is expecting from you. Talk to him about it...

Thanks a lot for the Answer .

i just had  a meeting with Festo and my Prefessor . because of the current Situation and because my university is on low Budget now . we decided to do just virtual Simulation of the System on PCS7 without change anything in Hardware . and next year when the University has more Money htey can maybe change the whole Cpu and use Cpu400 and then use the CFCs that i created .

can i use Factory IO for the Simulation ? or Maybe PLCsim ?

my question is , how to simulate the whole Process ? and im supposed to write something to remote access to pcs7 , how can we have remote acess to PCS7? what are the possibilities and the Options ?
