I configured both SCALANCE w788 and 744 and I've connected them but there are not working

biguri Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hi again! I'm back again with my doubts, hopping you'll help me again as good as you made before. Thanks everybody. Right now, I achieved to conect and configure both SCALANCE w788 and 744 and I've connected them but there are not working. I've got the master connected to an switch, and the 788 acces point to the switch too and in the other part the W744 with the slave. I've configured the W7XX to work in 2.4 GH 58 Mbps and they have key sequrity. nothing special. But I really don't know If I have to do something more, I've read a tutorial about all this and it is supposed to work after the configuration, but it doesn't. Any clues why this happens¿ if you need more information I'll give you. Thanks for your help! Splitted from x208.

Are you not able to reach the client at all or is it 'just' PN IO Communication which fails? If it's the first could you please post the Configuration files of both devices? You can obtain those by donwloading them in the Save & Load >> HTTP page in the Web Based Management. If it's the last case I would like to know what the update time from the PN IO Devices is (in your Step 7 project).. This should be at least 16 ms with 3 retries. And I would like to know what you have selected at the MAC mode in the client. This should be set to 'Adopt MAC Manually' and you should enter the MAC-Address written on the ET200 device. Also important is that you can only connect one device behind the Scalance W744.

biguri Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	I don't know where exactly the failure is at. I do have 1 IO device only after the 744 whose update time is 16ms 3 times. I already had got the adopt MAC manually and there written the ET200 MAC address. so... where could be the problem at? here youve got the files I taked from the w788 and w744 of the configuration, I guess I made it correctly.I hope you can find a solution in there. thanks! INS Gold Member Joined: 4/6/2006 Last visit: 2/5/2024 Posts: 604 Rating: (56)	Hi, What is the R1 LED Status of the Client at the moment you connect the ET200S? Is it blinking, constantly lit or off? I also can't see that you've manually entered the MAC-Address. According to this configuration the Auto mode is selected and the MAC Adress is 00-00-00-00-00-00. So either you forgot to to a software reboot to set the settings or something else went wrong. Please see the attachment there is a printscreen where you can see that this setting can be made in the Basic-Wizard available in this device. I don't think this is the problem but you've set different country modes in both devices. It could be that one of the coutnries has different channels (1..11 or 1..13 or in Spain even more could be blocked). Please set both on US if you are in the USA or to Spain of you are in Spain. And since the Access Point is set to Auto Select Channel the Access Point could pickout a channel which is not allowed to be used on the Client due to the difference in Country Regulations. But for Industrial Autoamtion solutions it's always better to pick the channel manually. If this is not the case the only thing I can think of would interference from other WLAN's. Since you've written that you are at a University I guess there is a Wireless LAN available, most probably this works with 2,4 GHz radio's as well. For a PN IO Update time of 16 ms you should have no intereferences at all. There for you could try to find a overlapping/interference free channel in the 2,4 GHz range or you switch to a 5 GHz channel where you a higher change on finding an overlapping free channel. Another solution could be trying to set the PN IO Updae Time to let's say 128 ms with 3 retries and see or it works. I hope that in this message you will find the answer to problems.
